Expresions of Asking and Giving Opinions

        Bahasa Inggris adalah bahasa dunia..

    So,dibawah ada beberapa contoh ungkapan kalimat  menanyakan dan menjawab pendapat/opini.








  Alangkah bagusnya belajar dialog bahasa inggris tentang asking and giving opinion ini kita awali dengan mempelajari kembali beberapa ungkapan atau phrases yang biasanya dipakai untuk mengantarkan cara menanyakan dan memberikan pendapat. Beberapa diantaranya adalah:

Asking Opinions (menanyakan pendapat) :
  • What do you think of …?
  • What are your views?
  • What is your opinion?
  • Is it right what I’ve done?
  • What about …?
  • How about …?
  • What are your ideas?
  • Do you have any thoughts on that?
  • How do you feel about that?            
Giving Opinions (memberi pendapat) :

    Formal :
  • I’m convinced that ….
  • I reckon ….
  • I consider that ….
  • According to the expert, I ….
  • In my opinion, .…
  • I think ….
  • I think we should get a new car. (Saya pikir kita harus membeli mobil baru)
  • I don’t think we need one. (Saya pikir kita tidak butuh)
  • I believe (that) smoking should be outlawed. (Saya setuju – bahwa – merokok harus dilarang)
  • I don’t believe (that) it should be illegal. (Saya tidak setuju – bahwa – itu ilegal)
  • In my opinion, Gone with the Breeze is the best movie ever made.(Menurut saya, Gone With The Breeze adalah film terbaik yang pernah dibuat).
  • I feel that it’s the right thing to do. (Saya pikir itu hal yang tepat untuk dilakukan)
  • I don’t feel that it’s such a good idea. (Saya tidak menganggap itu ide yang baik)

Informal
  •   I think I like it.                                 
  •   I don’t think I care for it.
  •   I think it’s good/nice/terrific……..
  •   I think that awful/not nice/terrible...  

  •   I don’t think much of it.
  •   I think that……..
  •   In my opinion, I would rather……….
  •   In my case …..
  •   What I’m more concerned with ….
  •   What I have in my mind is………
  •   From my point of view...
    Karena pelajaran speaking itu memfokuskan pada kebiasaan praktek, maka contoh dialog 2 dan 3 orang ini juga ditulis untuk melatih kemampuan berbicara bahasa inggris.
    Nah setelah mengetahui beberapa common expressions untuk menanyakan dan memberikan pendapat dalam bahasa inggris, saatnya kita melihat 3 contoh dialog bahasa inggris antara 2 dan 3 orang dibawah ini.

1. Contoh Dialog bahasa Inggris 3 orang dalam bahasa Inggris tentang meminta dan memberikan pendapat masalah kesulitan keungan membayar biaya sekolah.
  Tasya : Dear friends, I have a serious problem now. But I haven't found the solution yet. I'm                    confused.Can you help me?
  Jason: Tell us what it is! 
  Tasya: Yeah. Next month I must stop my studies because my father retired three  months ago. So he cannot pay my school fees.
  Angelica: Take it easy. It's not a serious problem.
  Tasya: What? How can I solve the problem?
  Angelica: Okay. I think you should ask for a letter from the authority telling that your family can't afford the school fees. Then you submit the letter to your school or to the parents'
representative.
 Jason: In my opinion you can also request scholarship. I think you are the best.
 Tasya: Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I'll try to do that .:-)

2. Contoh Dialog bahasa Inggris 3 orang tentang meminta dan memberikan pendapat bagaimana meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris
Utami : Our headmaster wanted us to improve and increase the quality of our English club. What do you think, Jessi?
Jessi: Well. I think so. We should be able to do that
Utami : So what should we do?
 Jessi: I think that we have to improve our syllabus. It must be more relevant to English. 
John: That's a great idea. But don't forget. I think it is not only that. We should also know the student's needs, because we handle different levels and wishes. 
Utami : Yes, I know that. Thank you. And then do we need new instructors here
Jessi: don’t think so.
